Should read "your phone is a weapon pointed at you, especially if you're a woman".
The fact that your smartphone and cloud services are dangerously insecure is not new, and that it has entered the public consciousness is probably for the good. However the real problem with this is social - some people, who thought they had a right to see these folks naked committed a crime, and then others got reighteous about how they too had a right to see these folk naked. Because reasons. Then blame these folk for taking pictures and saying they deserved it.
Imagine the situation that they stored a photo album in self storage and someone broke in, sure, the storage place would be rightly blamed for having a drunken security guard, but nobody would blame the victim for storing their stuff in something that they had every expectation was secure.
Some of the victim blaming that's going on with this is sickening.
